The shift in the paradigm of digital connections and social media
I am sitting here this Sunday and took a look around at my 2 sons and myself and I realized just how connected we and others are connected to "smart devices". TV, computer, I phone, Kindle. I took a quick inventory on the how many connections the whole family had this weekend. Yesterday started with me and my Kindle reading
"Risky is the new safe" by Randy Gage (fantastic book by the way, a must read for everyone and should be a required class in all schools).
I then worked on my laptop..wireless. Checked my I Phone for email, bank account and credit card. watched a show that was streamed to my xbox from netflix. Checked twitter and facebook on both my laptop and I Phone and then back to the Kindle for more reading.how many time was I "connected".....13 times throughout the day!! My 9 year old has an I Touch and my 4 year old loves to play on the laptop "PBSkids.com" My wife was on the laptop 3 times and her I Phone more than 5 times and uses her Kindle. All of this would not be possible without the internet and wireless connections. The shift on a digital connect has increased more than 500% from 5 years ago.
