Learning is an ongoing process

Learning is an ongoing process

It never stops, ever. The day you stop learning is the day your business stops growing. You will not see this happen right away, but as time goes on it will become very apparent. It is the Slight Edge Philosophy--The Slight Edge by Jeff Olsen--. If you have not indulged it that book it is a must for all networkers.

Don't just read a book one time

If a book is really worthwhile and helpful, don't just read the book one time. Read it 2,3 4 times. When you read a book one time you get a snippet of good information here and there, but if you read it more than once you will really start to learn more every time. For example I have read Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill 4 times. I also am on a call every week, write a lesson, submit it to a forum and discuss the chapter every week with others. The knowledge of the 13 principles in the book has increased my understanding of myself in ways I never knew. It has helped my business grow faster and more consistently. You need to take 3 or 4 books and really go through them a few times to get the most out of it. If you are on a book of the month club or 2 books a month, rethink it. Get a couple of books and read them 3 times each before you move on.

Different types of education

There are 2 basic types. Each type can be broken down to even more specialized kinds, but in general there are two types. Education on your company, and education on the MLM industry. All companies have ongoing training towards company specific items, yet they fail to educate on MLM as a whole. Learning about the industry of MLM is just as important as learning about your company. Lets put it in another perspective. If you were going to sell houses you would need to know about the different kind of house, laws, areas around you, how to talk to people, how the market is doing, trends and sales and closing tactics. You don't just learn about the company you work for, but you know the real estate industry as a whole. It is important for any network marketer to be educated about this industry.

The cost of education

I am a mentor and trainer for networkers. I help anyone in any business who asks for help. I don't charge a dime because this information should be free. You should be making money from your company, not from selling information to build it. Here is a big problem, you spend money on product and THEN you spend money on training. So if your money starts to run out what do you choose, product to make money or training to make money? How about pay for your product and get the training for free. Wow! What a concept. If you paying for training to build your business ask why you have to. Find out why the information (over and above the actual books you might buy)cost money. Why are the CD that your upline might sell you isn't just online for free for you to listen to?
If you get one thing, then get this. You should not ever have to pay for ongoing training to build your business so your company can make a profit off that training. They should make a profit of the product you buy.

Ongoing education

You cannot stop learning. I send out a free E-book when someone requests it. We have 10 free training calls per week and 1000's of hours of recorded training calls. You can't just read the e-book and have all the knowledge you need. That is why we have a system for the "ongoing" part of your training as well. Use the e-book and the ongoing education and build your business.
